How to Build the Pyramid in Build the Pyramid!
How building works in Build the Pyramid!: where blocks spawn, how carrying works, placement on the shared pyramid, and how a server of 50 finishes a build together.
Every player in Build the Pyramid! builds the same pyramid. There is no private plot, no blueprint menu, no rival structure — one desert, one build site, and up to 50 players whose only job is to keep blocks arriving. This page explains the building mechanics end to end: where blocks come from, how carrying works, what placement involves, and what happens as the structure nears completion. For the stats behind it all, see the training guide.
Where blocks come from
Blocks spawn in the desert around the pyramid’s build site. You do not craft or buy them — the supply is the landscape, and your job is conversion: turning scattered stone into placed tiers. In practice this means the route between the spawn area and the pyramid is the game’s true main street, and you will walk it hundreds of times. Learning the flow of other players along that route is half of building well; the etiquette side is in how co-op building works.
Carrying: the mechanic everything serves
Pick up a block and your avatar hoists it, visibly straining — a live display of your Strength limit. The carry is where the game’s two stats meet the world:
- Strength decides how much weight you can move — heavier loads, fewer trips for the same blocks.
- Speed decides how long each trip takes.
Both rise at the gym (see the training guide), and both jump instantly when you redeem codes — WELCOME’s 500/500 boost is the single biggest early carrying upgrade in the game.

Placing blocks on the shared pyramid
Placement is the end of each trip: bring the block to the pyramid, deposit it where the structure needs it. The build grows tier by tier as the server delivers, and placement requires no puzzle-solving — the bottleneck is always transport, which is why every other system in the game exists to raise blocks-per-minute. When the final slots are close to filled, the whole server feels it; the capstone moment that ends each build is the image the game itself leads with.

From completion to the next build
A completed pyramid is not the end — it is the loop point. Completing pyramids makes your character stronger for the next one, so each build starts with a stronger server than the last. What exactly carries over is still being verified and honestly labelled in pyramid completion rewards; the loop structure itself is straight from the official description.
Practical building notes
Follow the crowd at first. Other players’ routes are free information — where blocks spawn, where the site accepts placement.
Upgrade your carrying, not just your stats. Coins and upgrades add another multiplier on top of the gym; the options are in the upgrades overview and their funding in the coins guide.
Carry toward the end of a build. The completion bonus only lands if you contributed when it mattered — being around for the final stretch is how the loop rewards you.
The whole build in one sentence
Blocks spawn, you carry them, the server stacks them, everyone gets stronger — then it starts again. If that loop is clear, the beginner’s guide turns it into a first-session route; if you want the theory, how to play Build the Pyramid! unpacks each mechanic.
