How to Play Build the Pyramid! — Mechanics Explained

The mechanics of Build the Pyramid! explained: carrying blocks, the Speed and Strength stats, training, codes, and how server-wide completion works.

The official instructions for Build the Pyramid! are four lines long — pick up blocks, carry them to the pyramid, work together, train to get stronger. That is genuinely the whole game, but each line hides a mechanic worth understanding. This page unpacks them one by one so the loop makes sense before your first session (or explains why your second one feels different from your first).

Picking up and carrying blocks

Blocks spawn in the desert around the pyramid. You walk to one, pick it up, and your character carries it — visually straining under the weight, which is the game telegraphing your current Strength limit. Carrying is the core verb: the entire economy of the game flows through how many blocks you can move per minute, and every other system (stats, training, upgrades) exists to raise that number. If the carrying animation looks like your avatar is about to buckle, that is normal — it is what a heavy load looks like at low Strength.

One server, one pyramid

Every player in a server — up to 50 — contributes to the same structure. There is no personal pyramid and no competing build; the official description’s “work together with everyone in the server” is mechanical, not a suggestion. The pyramid grows as blocks are placed, and completing it is a shared server achievement that makes every contributor stronger. The etiquette and unwritten rules of sharing one build with 49 strangers are in how co-op building works.

Speed and Strength: the two stats

  • Speed controls how quickly you move while carrying — it shortens every round trip.
  • Strength controls how much you can carry — it raises blocks moved per trip.

Both are trained at the gym, and both are boosted by redeemable codes. Strength is the stat that changes how a trip feels (light vs. agonizing), Speed changes how many trips you fit into a minute. The training guide covers how to raise them and what is still unverified about later-game training areas: Build the Pyramid! training guide.

Completing pyramids and getting stronger

When the server fills the pyramid, it completes — and per the official description, completing pyramids makes you “even stronger.” That is the reset mechanic: the structure finishes, the next build starts, and your character carries its earned power into the new loop. What exactly carries over (raw stat boosts, unlocks, or something else) is the one area where we are still collecting verified detail — our current understanding, with sources and dates, is in pyramid completion rewards.

Coins, codes and upgrades

Coins are the currency layer on top of the carry loop — codes hand them out for free (FREECODE gives 500), and spending them is covered in the coins guide and the upgrades overview. If you have not redeemed the current codes yet, do that first: Build the Pyramid! codes lists every known code with its reward and source.

Playing on any device

The official page lists desktop, console, mobile and tablet support, and the experience is the same loop on all of them — the platform-specific notes (controls, performance, cross-play) are collected in Build the Pyramid! on console and mobile.

The loop, assembled

Pick up → carry → place → train → complete → stronger → repeat. That is the entire game, and its simplicity is why a server of 50 strangers can coordinate without saying a word. Start with the beginner’s guide if this is your first session, and check the codes page before you train — free 500/500 stats are the cheapest head start in the game.
